I have been looking my whole life for an amp that sounds like your amp!!! I am a fiddle player and the pedal steel player I play with in a band (Dave Zerbel) let me try out his amp last night. I have gone through so many amps..and never have I heard such clean powerful sound…like heaven, I have played through them all!!!!! I am wondering if you can suggest the best Webb amp for my electric fiddle (Zeta). Also, because of my high paying job as a teacher (hehe)..I am wondering about layaway? Please contact me either by phone. Or email me.

Thank you
Marisa Martinez

Dear Mr. Webb,

I want to thank you for the kind words. I really do mean that your amp is the best I have ever played through. So many pedal steel players praise your amp all the time. Unfortunately I can’t afford your amp at this time. When I do come across some extra money I really would like to purchase one of your amps. You have done an amazing job capturing the true sound of the instrument.
I feel really sad about not being able to afford your amp. Thank you for communicating with me and I will keep you in mind when I can afford your amp.

With much respect,
Marisa (fiddle player)

Dear Mr. Webb

I'm returning your questionnaire because I believe strongly in Webb Amps I am 28 years old and have recently started learning the steel guitar. My testimony though, is about my Fender Telecaster and your amp.

I have tried several amplifiers through the years and could not get the right tone (with my Tele) that I desired. A god friend of mine had recently bought a second Webb Amp from Herb Remington. He wanted to play steel with the stereo effect using both WEBB amps. When I heard the two amps I could not believe the sound. I searched long and hard to find that sound, I spent several hundreds of dollars. Then I decided it wasn't my equipment, but my Tele I almost sold my prize ossession. Then I decided to play steel guitar and called Herb Remington. He told me he had located another Webb amp. I was exstatic. I called my wife and headed for Houston (App. 400 miles round trip) to make a long story short. I got it home plugged in my Tele and could not believe the sound!!! It sounded so beautiful. I knew my Tele had it, and your Webb amp expressed it so well.

In closing I would like to say Thank You for keeping two old friends together, and introducing me to a new friend, The Webb Amplifier. My wife also thanks you, I'm a lot easier to live with now.

Sincerely,
Ray Sanders

P.S. I hope you don't mind me playing a six string through your

Hi Jim-Glad to see you’re still building the BEST AMP on the planet.
I was a dealer of yours in the late 70’s when I had my store.
I think all the amps I sold are still going strong, including a bass head that my former partner would kill to protect! I just regained custody of my red amp that has gone through a couple owners since I parted with it in 1984. Fortunately it’s still pretty clean with the exception of the somebody’s pet hamster (or something) eating the power cord! The power cord I can take care of but the remote reverb is missing-could I get you to sell me a replacement? I even still have the courderoy(sp) bag for it. Let me know the cost and I’ll send you a check. Are you still selling through dealers and if so how many pieces does it take to qualify?

Thanks,

Skip Ellis

Jimmie,

This is Scott Truax, from Inverness Florida.
I purchased a new Webb 614-E from you about a year and a half ago.
I also talked with you a couple of months ago about the price of a black extension speaker (JBL E-130-4). I was going to buy one, but, the $$$ was needed elsewhere at the time.
Am now ready to have you send me one. And, I just wanted to verify the price, availability, & payment method.
If you would please, let me know, and we’ll get going on it.

By the way, I’ve told you before, but, my Webb is by far the best amp I have ever played through. And I’ve had or used them all; Including the new Peavy. They can say what they want, but, the proof is getting them set up side by side, in a live playing environment.

Thanks for what you do for us!

Waiting to hear from you.

Best wishes for the Holiday Season. Scott Truax

I live in Connecticut do you have a local dealer/distributor? A friend of mine has one of your amps it is about 10/15 years old I hadn’t seen him in a few years he was my steel player for a number of years. When I ran into him the other day I asked if he still had the webb, he just smiled and said that if he lost his webb amp he would get out of business. Anyway do you have a local dealer or can I buy direct from the factory? Thank you for your prompt reply.

Hi Jim...I so enjoyed talking with you a few minutes ago from my home in Seattle. As I told you, I bought my Webb September 10, 1979 from Clem Schmidt ---Pedal Steel Emporium in MPLS, MN. The serial number is #1080.
Please let me know when I can send my amp head for you to look over and clean it and make sure the repairman in MPLS put the right part in it. Keep making the greatest amp for the steel!!!! You were ahead of your time. Thanks Bill Simmons

I may stop in later this week for 5 minutes just to say thanks’ when I’m in Sacramento.

Hi Jim, long time no see. I’ve been thinking about going to one amp and quit carrying all this equipment, rack, power amp, speaker enclosures etc. I’ve always liked your amps back to when Zane Beck had them. From everything I’ve heard, Tommy White’s tone is the best I’ve heard using one amp, and I’ve set up next to him at Jeff’s June Jams with all of my gear, and his "one" amp wasn’t lacking at all! If you would, let me know the details, who, what, where, how much, etc.

Jimmie, I just wanted to let you know that I have used the same Webb amp for 17 years. I have had very few problems with it and have always been pleased with the tone, power, and clarity of your creation. I have had many compliments on the sound I get. I have a 1973 Emmons wood-necked guitar and I use a L’il Izzy. I do not use effects processors for any other tone enhancements. I have, in essence, been advertising your amp in the Houston area for quite a while. I’ve heard offers to sell my amp, but I couldn’t bear to part with it.
I was cruising the web today and happened to see your site.
Best wishes and many thanks for the great product!
